We're always looking for opportunities to make your dining experience better - and that includes finding delicious new ways to keep your meals healthier and make smart choices easier.

Supported and approved by the American Dietetic Association, this program provides simple nutritional information so you can make informed meal choices quickly and easily. Whether you prefer traditional hearty meals or lighter, low fat, carb-counter or vegetarian options, you'll find menu items that work for you. Just look for the Just4UTM signs at your campus dining locations.

Healthier Choices

While we're working to add more healthy options to your dining menu, here are a few simple tips to supercharge your diet.

  • Make half your grains whole - Eat at least 3 oz. of whole grain cereals, breads, crackers, rice or pasta every day. For a 2,000 calorie diet, eat 6 oz. everyday.
  • Vary your veggies - Eat more dark-green veggies like broccoli and spinach, orange vegetables like carrots and sweet potatoes and dry beans and peas like pinto beans, kidney beans and lentils. For a 2,000 calorie diet, eat 2 ½ cups everyday.
  • Focus on fruits - Eat a variety of fresh, frozen, canned or dried fruits but go easy on fruit juices. For a 2,000 calorie diet, eat 2 cups everyday.
  • Get your calcium-rich foods - Go low-fat or fat-free when you choose milk, yogurt or other milk-products. If you don't or can't consume milk, choose lactose-free products or other calcium sources. For a 2,000 calorie diet, get 3 cups everyday.
  • Go lean with protein - Choose low-fat or lean grilled, baked or broiled meats and poultry. Vary your protein routine with more fish, beans, peas, nuts and seeds. For a 2,000 calorie diet, eat 5 ½ oz. everyday
