In celebration of Earth Day 2008, the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) Dining launched "Buy a Meal Plan, Plant a Tree" initiative.
The name of this new green program says it all: for every meal plan sold during the 2008-2009 academic year, FIT Dining will plant one tree in an American forest. So far this year, "Buy a Meal Plan, Plant a Tree" has planted 838 trees for the Fall 2008 meal plan purchases.
